‘Cut’ came from a series of experimentations by playing with the thickness and the surface of the hot glass to create a rippling effect. Inspired by the glistening waves of the seas, we wanted to capture the same effect of constant play of lights. By simply “cutting” the hot honey like glass, and blowing it up, we were create glass pieces that do not seem solid or hard, but still look liquid and mallaeble. Even inspected closely, the glass seems to change with every angle, very fluid in its perception, creating a unique dispersion of light.
Each piece is blown and 'cut' by hand and therefore unique. The piece has a small flattened part on the bottom to rest firmly. Each piece rests slightly unique due to their natural weight and cut shape.
